Thunderbird Technologies' Founder
Thunderbird's
IP portfolio is based upon Al Vinals's extensive experience as a memory
designer for IBM. Al worked for IBM for 17 years, where he he was
responsible for 72 U.S. Patents and authored numerous papers and other
publications. He was Thunderbird's Chief Scientist and also Chairman of
the Board at the time of his passing in 1994. One of Al's passions was
restoring antique automobiles. He owned two Ford Thunderbirds which he
had personally restored, then sold to fund the first patent
applications; thus the name of the company.
